Hello, Fall! It finally hit the low 70s in Texas over the weekend and I couldn’t be more excited. I hate to even say it because I know I’m going to jinx myself, but I really think Fall weather is right around the corner. What does that mean, you ask?? That I can actually start pulling out some of my transitional clothing and Fall shoes for cooler temps. Even though I run so hot I’ll most likely be wearing shorts straight into December!
Trying to transition into Fall in Texas is definitely a challenge. Last year it snowed one day and was back in the 80s the next and that was all in December! I always like to joke that Texans love to have HUGE closets because we have to keep every single season of clothing and shoes out and visible because you never know what the weather is going to do! I tried to store my summer clothing away one year and that was a HUGE mistake. I think I ended up wearing my shorts and tees more than my jeans and sweaters.
I know Texas isn’t the only state with ridiculous weather like this so I wanted to share a few tips on how to comfortably transition into Fall even if it doesn’t feel like it.
Layering is an absolute must. My go-to transitional look is always shorts/jeans, a bodysuit or tank with a lightweight cardigan paired with Fall shoes. The best way to cheat your outfit into looking more Fall is your footwear. You can be wearing the same outfit in this post with flip flops for summer but then throw on a pair of boots/booties or sneakers and be ready for cooler weather.
Now, I don’t know about y’all but I am a shoe hoarder. I’m sure most of y’all have seen my recent Instagram Stories about needing more space for my countless amounts of shoes. Funny story, I actually own more Fall shoes and clothing than I do summer goodies. 😂 I don’t know how that even makes sense since it never gets THAT cold here, but it’s true. And semi embarrassing.
I normally love wearing boots and booties with my Fall looks. BUT I actually found another pair of shoes that are perfect to wear during these transitional months all the way into Winter. Any guesses where they’re from? You’ll seriously never guess!! DR. SCHOLL’S!!!!
I am one of those people that browses the Zappos site on a daily basis. Am I the only one?? I came across these gorgeous blush colored suede sneakers and had to have them. They were literally in my shopping cart before I had even looked to see who made them. 😂 I’m normally not even a huge sneaker person but it was love at first sight.
These Dr. Scholl’s sneakers are part of The Lab Collection and are some of the comfiest pairs of shoes I’ve ever worn. Y’all know I am all about comfort and style since I am on my feet 24/7 and these passed the test! Not to mention they are perfect to wear with skinny jeans, shorts, or mini dresses. I know during the fall you hear about the best booties to buy, but let’s be real wearing heels all the time really do wear your feet down. These Scholl’s sneakers are a perfect fall shoe to add to the collection, AND they come in three different colors, so there are plenty of options to choose from!
