The city of Austin is no stranger to this EDM DJ San Holo. After performing at this past ACL for both weekends, San Holo, otherwise known as Sander Van Dijck, came back to give Austin a taste of his new debut album, album1. BLEND had the incredible opportunity to sit down with him at Austin Eastciders to talk about his new album, the tour and of course... music!

Since his first hit remix “The Next Episode” by Dr. Dre hit over 150 million views on YouTube, San Holo’s name has only risen in fame, allowing him to release his first album last September. With previous hit songs such as “Light,” “We Rise,” and “One Thing,” this DJ from the Netherlands has amassed a huge following in the U.S. His musical abilities extend past being just a DJ, he sings and plays the guitar in a majority of his songs. During his live performances it’s unlike most DJs because he will pull out these musical talents to amaze the audience (hopefully you get to see him live in a city close to you). His genre of EDM is definitely hard to define, even he had a hard time during the interview to put it into exact words, but that is just another reason to love this DJ.
Austin Eastciders Collaboratory, where we filmed this segment of Beers with the Band, is located right next to Friends & Allies, where we also did our Black Joe Lewis BWTB interview. The brewery has the perfect summer vibes, with a wall that slides up so the breeze can blow right in. They have fun events happening every night, and the array of ciders being produced are all so unique and flavorful. Their newest ciders they have released are a rosé dry cider, a watermelon (which is going to be released this summer) and a few limited releases (check out the menu at their taproom here. Take it from San Holo and try their Blood Orange Cider!
